Saint-Gobain is loyal to Bastogne, whose geographical location and quality of workforce we appreciate.

Founded in 1665 by Colbert in order, principally, to produce the Hall of Mirrors at the Chateau of Versailles, Saint-Gobain is one of the largest French groups. It operates around four centres of activity including those of high performance innovative materials and glass. It employs more than 200,000 persons in sixty countries. Saint-Gobain Autover, a department of Saint-Gobain Sekurit, the world’s largest producer of laminated glass, specialises in the sale of glass for cars, trucks and buses destined for the replacement market. Saint-Gobain Autover also distributes all of the peripheral accessories – clips, rain detectors – and the materials required for installation.

In September 2001 Saint-Gobain Autover Distribution chose the Bastogne industrial park to locate its principal distribution platform for European countries. Overseas countries are supplied using containers from the port of Antwerp. «We chose Bastogne», explains Thierry Amerlynck, managing director, «because the region is ideally located with regard to our clients and suppliers, and we have the advantage of an efficient road infrastructure. On top of this, we can call upon quality, skilled and hard-working personnel. We employ from 120 to 160 depending on season.»
