In 1958, American engineer and passionate skier Ed Scott revolutionised the world of skiing by producing the first aluminium ski sticks. Today, Scott Sports sells winter sports equipment, bicycles, motorbike accessories and leisure clothing. Scott Sports Group at Aubange is the international logistics centre for the American group. «The field of activity of Scott Sports Group extends across the whole world except for the United States», explains managing director Jean-Claude Bury. Initially established in Londerzeel in Vlaams Brabant, the infrastructure became too restricted to cope with the increase in sales. The group decided to set up in Aubange, in the heart of the European Development Hub located in the south of the Belgian province of Luxembourg.
«The location of Aubange facilitates the transport of merchandise and avoids having to use the Brussels Ring which was often the cause of delays in shipments to the rest of Europe. Now, our containers arrive directly by the Athus rail terminal. The proximity of this terminal and the price of land were major elements in our choice of Aubange». Scott Sports Group employs 60 and the availability of surrounding sites is enabling the company to consider increasing its current 27,000 m² of space to 51,000 m².
