The first Indian incubator in Liège has been inaugurated in the context of the Marshall Plan 2 Vert. Two specialist advisers, one of whom is a Hindi speaker, will be available full time to assist and direct potential investors. If one of them should set up in business in Wallonia, he/she will benefit amongst other things from Awex's support in tackling the other European Union markets.
It should be noted that two Indian operators have already set up in business in the region. CALIBER which, based on Liège province, distributes its clothing textiles produced in the province of Shemmai and SNOWWOOD, a specialist in the development of industrial and telecommunications software applications.
The Indian Welcome Office follows the launch in December of another incubator in Mons dedicated to the Chinese market.
Via these structures, businesses benefit, for a period of three months, from the free provision of services such as: assistance in the business language, meeting rooms, etc.
A budget of 2.5 million Euros over 5 years has been allocated by the Marshall Plan 2 Vert for all the incubators planned up to 2013 (Brazil in 2011, Japan in 2012, America in 2013).
