Bastogne has been the world capital of phospholipid production since yesterday! Thanks to a first for the group BNLfood, better known as Belovo, the company took delivery of its new TLC (The Lipid Company) plant, which is unique in the world.

€7 million was invested in the project. It represents the culmination of 15 years' research and development on the extraction of phospholipids.

This technique consists of extracting lipids (fats) from egg yolk which has first been turned into powder, in order to produce another powder that is very widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. It is also a common ingredient in the infant food industry. This gives Belovo a five to six year advance on its potential competitors, making it the world's leading company in the sector.
