Van der Valk will start work in March 2008 on the construction of a 4-star, 110-room hotel on the former Gare de l’Ouest site at Verviers.

The Dutch Van der Valk hotel group, which operates in several European countries (Germany, France, Belgium, Spain), already owns 78 hotels with an average occupation rate of around 70% at an average price of 70 euros a night.

This investment of 9 million euros is fully in line with the policy of reallocation of disused economic sites and will create 25 jobs.
