GLS starts up in Nivelles

Il y a 4 years

GLS Belgium’s third environmentally-friendly distribution centre in Nivelles is now in operation. To enable it to handle up to 35,000 parcels and 2,400 palettes per day, it has a parcel hall of nearly 5,000 m² and a 4,000 m² freight terminal. The two entities have been kept separate to make it possible to automate handling.

The new site is fitted with modern scanning and conveyor techniques, as well as security systems. A heat pump and a rainwater utilisation system mean that it runs sustainably.

GLS has invested €8.2 million in total in the new centre, which complements the capacities of the Brussels and Charleroi facilities. In Nivelles the company employs around 265 employees and drivers/delivery staff.
