Many “sustainable districts” projects (Eco-quartiers) have been flourishing over the past few years in Wallonia – and this trend is undoubtedly gaining strength –triggered by effective tax incentives and legal/building codes requirements.
These pilot districts represent excellent opportunities to apply new design and construction practices, and will pave the way for the development of sustainable construction economy in one of the most densely populated areas of the world – with a level of high environmental awareness.
The green economy cluster «GreenWin » is organizing on May 15th an information day on this specific development in the presence of the Walloon Minister of Environment. Networking, exchange of best practices and generation of new ideas and projects are the main objectives of the day. Wallonia is also providing extensive support to related R&D projects through its clustering strategy.
