This investment of over € 30 millions in state-of-the-art infrastructure will make it possible to optimise Dow Corning’s delivery capacity and enhance the service provided to clients in Europe, the Middle East, Southern Asia and Africa.
Dow Corning, world leader in the fields of silicones and silicon-based technologies and innovations, today announced the completion of construction work at its European distribution centre at Feluy, Belgium, with 32,000 square metres floorspace. Improved performance at the distribution centre in terms of the environment, health and safety was made possible by virtue of the use of ‘Dow Corning’ technologies and the choice of sustainable architecture, in particular special functions to increase the energy output of the building. This cutting-edge infrastructure showcases best practice, and will enable Dow Corning to improve its performance in relation to the environment, health and safety, in order to support its future growth in the region itself, and in Belgium and Europe as a whole. Fifteen months sufficed for its construction, and the new premises allow the size of the existing warehouse to double.
Klaus Hoffmann, Regional President – Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said: ‘Our new European distribution centre, which operates on the basis of better work-flows, will give a significant increase in our delivery capacity, improvements in the quality and services provided by Dow Corning. With the new centre, our company will have all the facilities needed to continue to grow operations in Europe sustainably, and enable us to serve clients even better by offering the innovative products, applications and services on which our reputation is based. The new distribution centre, which is among the best in its class, illustrates the effort and innovative technological know-how we have put to work. The aim of all this effort is to act responsibly in the context of our own operations in order to protect our environment and staff, and to help our clients hit their targets.
Over the coming months, Dow Corning will be involved in the move to the new distribution centre. Once it’s fully operational, the centre, which functions on the basis of improved work-flows, will clear the way to a significant increase in Dow Corning’s delivery capacity, and improvements in product quality and service-provision in Europe, the Middle East, Southern Asia and Africa.
